Take Stock in Children
A number of Harvest members serve as mentors for youth in our community through a program called Take Stock in Children. Mentors meet once weekly with their assigned student in a local middle or high school to help provide support, encouragement, and accountability. Harvest also helps sponsor the annual Take Stock Manatee Prayer Breakfast, a primary fundraiser for the program.

Take Stock in Children was established in 1995 as a non-profit organization in Florida that provides a unique opportunity for low-income and at-risk students, many from minority families, to escape the cycle of poverty through education. They offer participating students college scholarships, caring volunteer mentors, and hope for a better life. Comprehensive services start in middle school, continue through high school and include their transition into college.
